Design, Ideas, Inspiration...

Creativity and painting has always been a part of my life. Starting with courses in Madrid at a young age, then courses  at university level in the Unites States, including courses in England, where I started to exhibe my artwork.
I have painted for years with oil, acrylic paintings and pastel.

I love the Impressionist period, and the artist of that time are a fountain of inspiration for my ARTISTS JEWELRY COLLECTION.

Some of the great Spanish artist are the foundation of my designs. As an admirer of Picasso, Miro and Dali, I’ve created jewelry pieces based on their works.

Design Process

My first step is to draw a number of sketches, until I develop and idea worthy of a jewelry piece.

When I have choose a design I   created in paper a  representation of the final jewelry piece before working on the metal.

Choosing and working the metal

After the paper piece is final then the shape is cut from a sheet of copper, edges filed and shaped with a hammer.
Silver Jewelry is acomplished by purchasing the sterling silver and making the shape designed.

Enameling and Firing

Enamel is aplied on each piece and fired. The enamel has to be in leyers and each one fired independent, to obtain the diferent color and design desired.  A piece is fired from 5 to 15 times depending on the finished product.

Polishing Sterling Silver and Mounting

Sterling silver pieces need to be polished with different sandpaper grits to obtain a shinning or matt finish. All pieces are then mounted on leather or silver chains. Earrings are mounted on silver.
